Mad About Urban Decay Glide-On Shadow Pencil!
In my quest to make my everyday or morning make-up routine a little faster, I decided to try the Urban’s shadow pencil because of the creamy texture and pencil shape, easy to put on and blend with fingers. The colors are great, pigmented and have shimmer, they blend well and lasts all day. I use Sin for daytime because it matches with my skin so all you see are hints of shimmer and Delinquent for night time, perfect one step smokey eye.
Monday Madness

A couple of weeks ago I was shopping at Sephora when I decided to use my points for a sample of Benefit’s Bella Bamba blush. It was the best use of my points because ever since I used the sample, I haven’t touched any of my other blushes. The color is suppose to be watermelon with gold shimmer. I would say the color is a mix between pink and coral, so pretty. The shimmer and the color are both very subtle so I can wear it to work but it can also be layered a little more for night time. I don’t need to use a highlighter with this blush, it’s two in one!! I am definitely going to get the full size blush when I run out of the sample, which I am sure will be very soon. So, go get yourself one too and perk up that pretty face with some Bamba!!!

What-To-Do Wednesday: False Lashes

Saturday Splurge vs. Steal

This week’s topic is on my must have makeup product – EYELINER. I must, must wear my cat eyes or winged eyeliner every time I put on make up; without it I feel naked. My personal favorite is liquid version for everyday and gel if I am going to a party, I wore gel for my wedding because its drier and more matte so it doesn’t budge easily (in case I cried but I didn’t). I always mess up the pencil one by rubbing my eye and it runs a little because my eyelids gets oily. Below are my recommendation for pencil, liquid and gel in both low and high price. Happy shopping and TGIF!!
Pencil
BH Cosmetics – Waterproof Eyeliner in Onyx
At $2.37 it’s the most affordable liner I have ever used but the quality is great. It’s creamy and pigmented so it glides on the lid and you can easily blend it for a smokey look; but it does run a little if you have oily skin, so have to use a primer first. It’s easily removable by soap or makeup remover.
M.A.C Cosmetics Technakohl Liner in Graphblack
$15 but I have the retractable one so no sharpener needed. The texture is creamy for smooth, no tug application. It’s color is rich and easily blendable. But its hard to take off with just soap, you must use makeup remover and then soap to get it completely off. Even with everyday use, it’ll last a while.
Liquid
L’Oreal Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Black
$10 and you can get it at any drugstore. It has felt tip so it’s easy to apply and the color is intense and matte. But since it’s liquid, it’s not ideal for smudging but it dries fast and easily removable with water. So, if you make a mistake, just dip Q-Tip into water or makeup remover to clean up that also means it can get smudgy if you cry or get wet in the rain/snow. I have been using this since I was 14 and I have no complaints so far.
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black
$15 but it’s like a marker so it’s much easier to apply than the felt tip version. If you are new to liquid eyeliner, then I recommend this one for you; it’s like coloring your upper eyelid, super easy. The color is great though I find the L’Oreal one a little bit more darker and it’s last all day without any smudging if you don’t shed any tears. It’s easily removable with soap or makeup remover so you don’t have to stress about making mistakes.
Gel
Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
$10 and can be found at any drugstore. The pot is small, so is most gel liner pots, but it comes with an eyeliner brush. I don’t really like the brush; I apply it using my Sonia Kashuk brush. The gel is very pigmented and matte once it dries so it stays put even through tears! It’s soft and creamy so easy to apply but dries really fast so be sure to fix any mistakes quickly. Easily removable with soap or makeup remover; I would say it’s ideal for parties or long days/nights in the heat cause it won’t smudge.
Bobbie Brown Long-wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
$22 can be bought at any department stores carrying the line or Sephora
The pigmentation is great, smooth application and dries fast, but not as fast as Maybelline so you don’t need to rush to get it perfect. It’s very matte once dry but the color still looks very rich and dark (kind of like liquid eyeliner). It comes in a small pot without any brushes so you have to buy a separate liner brush. It stays put through heat and oiliness; ideal for hot summer days or nights. Overall it’s a great eyeliner and definitely Splurge Approved!
Many of you might not know how to put on liquid or gel liners yet so below is a great YouTube video to show you how and also links to where you can purchase all the liners in this post.
